Spring Trendspotting: Van Cleef & Arpels Oriens

1 of my most preferred Spring time attractiveness rituals is the “alter over”. What is the “alter over”, you request? It is essentially the rejiggering my attractiveness routines to suit the approaching time. The “alter over” applies to everything from hair and wardrobe to make-up and fragrance. With Spring quick approaching (Thank Gawd) I have set my sights on switching much more than my attractiveness routines.

With respect to fragrance, the beginning of Spring signals the “alter over” from Woody and Spicy to Floral and Fruity. Van Cleef and Arpels Oriens Parfum totally satisfies my fruity jones with a sparkling mix of ripened raspberry, daring black currant and praline in the leading notes. The center notes of jasmine and refreshing reduce white flowers fulfill my floral fixation. Even though I am usually not a fan of Patchouli, it surprisingly features in Oriens. The stability is magnificent.

Final, but certainly not minimal, Oriens’ exquisitely ornate bottle begs to be touched and held. The intricate style is inspired by Van Cleef & Arpels tourmaline and diamond ring. This deluxe fragrance is a Spring must!

In in in between you and I, every and each and every time I reach for the tourmaline and diamond ring inspired bottle, I hum this tune:

Obtainable at Bergdorf Goodman
